Windows 11 Upgrade Deadline

The deadline for upgrading all ISU owned computers to a current operating system is October 14th, 2025. After that deadline, machines that are no longer officially supported by Microsoft may no longer be able to securely access applications which require logging in through our Identity Management System.

ITS recommends that personal computers, including those used by students, be upgraded as well, to better protect the information stored on those machines. Students will not be blocked, however, from accessing applications protected by the Identity Management System, such as Canvas and MyISU. 

Upgrading a PC to Windows 11 takes most people 30-60 minutes to complete, using these instructions. If anyone encounters problems during the upgrade process, we invite them to contact the Service Desk at 208-282-4357 (HELP) or by email at help@isu.edu.
